In one of its unique case of cruelty that were occurring on 02 cows at Pokadera, Mayabunder, wherein their Pradhan impounded two voiceless cows belonging to a poor peasant, namely Shri Ahiv Ram Singh at a Cattle pound that has no Basic provisions at all. It was lagging any roof, concrete floor, no appointed regular attendants, no water & no electricity. The poor cows, who we proudly treat as "Gau-Matha", were kept captive for 03 days continuously leaving them to drench in the heavy rains, compelling to sit on the marshy land unfed. Nothing were provided as fodder. They were let to stay in the dark.
When the Member Secretary, District SPCA(N&MA), Dr P.M.Murali received the complaint from the owner, without wasting any time, he corresponded it with the SHO, Mayabunder and shared all evidences and requested him to inspect the pound. The SHO shri Arif did his part appreciably and did the needful to release the suffering animals.
I appreciate the noble work of the SHO. His prompt action has saved 02 animals life. Hats off to his dedicated service, Says Dr Murali.
All the Pradhans are warned, not to impound the voiceless Cattles in a pound that doesnt fulfill Basic criteria as enshrined in the Govt.of india rule in this respect or else it may invite legal action for inflicting cruelty upon animals under relevant rules ranging from fine to imprisonment.
